My New Job

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

I will be leaving San Diego (sadly), and will be taking a job with Freedom Works in D.C. (gladly).

I am really excited about this opportunity. I’ll be the Grassroots Manager for Freedom Works, building a grassroots army of conservatives.

I’ll be moving out to DC by the end of the month. I sure will miss those warm and breezy California days. :(
But I look forward to working full-time as an activist and advocate.

To all my buds in Cali, Call Me, and we’ll set up a time to get a beer before I leave.

Poetic Justice

Tuesday, June 28th, 2005

The Supreme Court may just get what it desires. Justice Souter’s home could be in trouble.
Check this out.

Eminent domain is tyranny, especially when private entities can take land or other property from other private entities.

I hope the SCOTUS learns from this mistake.

Supreme Court Legalizes Theft of Private Property

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

The story is here.

This is a travesty. The rationale for taking one’s private property is that it will provide economic benefits to the city. Basically, the self-appointed Philosopher-Kings have destroyed another principle upon which our country was founded.

And, in other news: the House passed a Constitutional Amendment to ban flag burning. There goes free speech.

What is America becoming?

God and Man at Yale

Tuesday, June 21st, 2005

I have just finished Bill Buckley’s God and Man at Yale. A fantastic read for young conservatives. It’s funny how similar are the tone and style of his and my book. Don’t interpret this as my comparing the quality of the books, but I sense that what he felt in 1951, I felt in 2004. I highly recommend the book to anyone interested in the problems of professors who teach collectivism and socialism. (Pretty much 9 out of 10 in the social sciences.)

PETA Kills Animals? Yep…

Tuesday, June 21st, 2005

PETA reached the zenith of hypocrisy with this one. They have been saying that they have been “euthanizing” animals. It just doesn’t get any better than this.

YCC Growing Slowly

Sunday, June 12th, 2005

My friend Daniel Martinez and I are beginning to get YCC off the ground. We will be recruiting members and writing the Constitution and bylaws soon.

By next fall we hope to have a few viable chapters in Southern California. We will be a mix of college students, high school students and young professionals. We hope to organize the YCC either by city or by county, starting with San Diego, Los Angeles and Riverside.

I look forward to working with Daniel on furthering The Conservative Revolution in California.
