Iran’s war against the U.S. in Iraq

Monday, May 21st, 2007

The Guardian newspaper reports that Iran is working with al Qaeda to force the U.S. to retreat from Iraq.

Once again, notice how our enemies are relying on the Democrats in Congress to break our will to win the war.

Iran is secretly forging ties with al-Qaida elements and Sunni Arab militias in Iraq in preparation for a summer showdown with coalition forces intended to tip a wavering US Congress into voting for full military withdrawal, US officials say.

Sean Penn says Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Condi Should be in F@#$# Jail!

Friday, May 4th, 2007

I was watching Bill Maher’s show tonite, and just heard the seemingly wasted Sean Penn say that Bush and his cabinet are guilty of “murdering young Americans” and should be in “fu@#$ jail.” Listening to these leftists talk about the war against al Qaeda and its allies is frustrating. Gary Shandling even said we should stop talking about “winning and losing” the war.

These Hollywood idiots were on with Congressman Harold Ford, Jr., who gained my respect. He refused to join the far left surrender-monkeys and said that the enemy in Iraq is al Qaeda. Ford should be praised by conservatives for trying to keep the Democrat Party from going over the deep end.

Iraqi blogger blasts Democrats

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Omar at Iraq the Model, a blog in Baghdad, says that the Democrats are hurting the war effort in Iraq.

Just as we began to see signs of progress in my country the Democrats come and say ‘well, it’s not worth it, so it’s time to leave. Evidently to them my life and the lives of twenty five million Iraqis are not worth trying for and they shouldn’t expect us to be grateful for this strategy although its tools are not fully deployed yet is showing promising signs of progress.

General Petraeus said yesterday that things will get tougher before they get easier in Iraq and this is the kind of fact-based realistic assessment of the situation which politicians should listen to when they discuss the war thousands of miles away. We must give this effort the chance it deserves and provide all the support and constructive critique, not the ‘war is lost’ empty rhetoric.

Larry Kudlow on Iraq, al Qaeda and Joe Lieberman

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

Larry Kudlow has a great piece out in National Review Online.

Our last best hope in Iraq — General David Petraeus — reminded Pentagon reporters this week of a critically important fact long forgotten by most observers: Our real enemy in Iraq, the true source of all the murders, mayhem, and instability, is not sectarian strife. And it’s not the Sunnis or the Shiites either. The real enemy we face in Iraq is al Qaeda.

According to the top American commander in Iraq, al Qaeda’s number one priority is defeating the United States in Iraq. The general called this organization “public enemy number one,” adding that “Iraq is, in fact, the central front of al Qaeda’s global campaign.”
Without question, it is a near certainty that Iran and Syria are helping al Qaeda with money, arms, and explosives. And yes, if we leave now, al Qaeda will have an open field in which to expand their operations and prepare for the ultimate attack on the United States. In fact, the Defense Department and the CIA just nabbed a high-ranking al Qaeda operative known as al-Iraqi. He was a key link between the Taliban in Afghanistan, al Qaeda in Iraq, and al Qaeda members in Iran. And while it’s great news we got him, he’s one more reminder that this network is strong and playing for keeps.

Democrats Surrender: “War is Lost”

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

Drudge is reporting that Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) has concluded that the Iraq war is lost, and that the surge isn’t working. Call me crazy, but based on his previous comments, I think Sen. Reid is hoping that the war is lost so the Democrats can benefit politically. Their pursuit at power will stop at nothing, not even if it breaks the morale of our troops in the field. Pathetic.

Al Jazeera is reporting this story on their website. I called Reid’s office and notified them of this. The staffer said he couldn’t visit al Jazeera. Funny, shouldn’t Reid allow his staff to read news sources that quote him? I told the person who answered that Sen. Reid might want to choose his words more carefully next time. The phone number for those of you who want to call Reid is 202-224-3542.

The Brits’ weakness

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

The whole British/Iranian hostage affair was embarrassing for our allies, the Brits. What Iran did was an act of war, and the world let them get away with it. I would hope that if U.S. Marines were kidnapped, they would at least have defended themselves, and not been so quick to praise the “nice” and “kind” Iranians.
The British soldiers groveling to the Iranian thugs was a pathetic spectacle. The West had better get its act together and stand up to these people, or we will only embolden them.

Furthermore, what is with Western women having to wear a head covering when they visit Iran? We are “intolerant” when we require Muslim women here to uncover their faces for their driver licenses. Why do we show so much respect for their culture when our women go abroad, but they show so little for ours when they come here?

Here is a good sampling of opinion on the matter:

Renaming the War on Terrorism

Monday, March 12th, 2007

I posted a piece about how we should rename the War on Terrorism to “The War on Al Qaeda and its Allies.”

You can vote for the article to appear in The Politico print edition by clicking here.

It is the fourth story from the top.

Political Winds Shifting on Iraq?

Friday, March 9th, 2007

Hat tip to Power Line blog for posting this great video of Congressman Obey (D-WI) berating “idiot liberals” on their demands to stop funding the war against al Qaeda and its allies.

Here is the link: http://powerlineblog.com/archives/016987.php

Only time will tell if the troop surge will work. In the mean time, I think it’s clear that the Democrats will not be stopping the funding of the war.

The truth about Muhammed

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Robert Spencer gave a great lecture about Islam and Muhammed at the Heritage Foundation last November. You can watch the video by clicking here.

Every American should watch the lecture and at least consider Spencer’s arguments. I happen to find them quite convincing.

What will happen if the US leaves Iraq?

Monday, February 19th, 2007

One writer, Robert Dreyfuss of Washington Monthly, says that there will not be chaos if the US leaves Iraq. Congressman John Murtha echoed this sentiment the other day, citing opinion polls of Iraqis. He stated that he did not believe there would be a bloodbath if the US leaves Iraq. Below in an excerpt of the Dreyfuss piece.

Much of Washington assumes that leaving Iraq will lead to
a bigger bloodbath. It’s time to question that assumption.

“..if it was foolish to accept the best-case assumptions that led us to invade Iraq, it’s also foolish not to question the worst-case assumptions that undergird arguments for staying. Is it possible that a quick withdrawal of U.S. forces will lead to a dramatic worsening of the situation? Of course it is, just as it’s possible that maintaining or escalating troops there could fuel the unrest. But it’s also worth considering the possibility that the worst may not happen: What if the doomsayers are wrong?”

Although it’s convenient for the Bush administration to claim that al-Qaeda is a Comintern-like international force, it is really a loose ideological movement, and its Iraq component is fed largely by jihadists who flock to the country because they see the war as a holy cause. Once the United States withdraws, Iraq will no longer be a magnet for that jihad.
